How to Make Play Dough
PLAY DOUGH INGREDIENTS:
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 cups water
2 Tablespoons of oil (vegetable or coconut)
Gel food coloring
METHOD:
There are two ways you can make this!
Option 1 (stovetop) - Add water to pot and mix in all ingredients on low heat. Stir for a few minutes until thickened, then remove from heat and let cool slightly on wax paper. Knead in a few drops of food coloring.
Option 2 (no cook) - Combine all ingredients in a bowl except for the water and food coloring. Add in your 2 cups of boiling water and stir to combine until thickened. Drop in the food coloring immediately and mix until smooth.
STORAGE:
Store in zip lock or air tight container. Can last approximately 3 months.
*TIP*
If your dough seems sticky just add more flour during the process.
For old dough that is starting to crystalize you can add a little oil to it to extend for a few more weeks of play!
